Instilling confidence and pushing limits

Instilling confidence and pushing limits

I am fascinated by the powers of the human body, its healing potential, and its capacity for sports. This fascination is what drives me to keep looking for new treatment options, and new exercises and ways to achieve wellness.

Physiotherapy is largely about motivation. Without the belief and will to change something for the better, it won’t work. I have made it my job to seek personalised solutions for my patients, customised to their physical level. I give my patients the confidence to overcome the first, often trying phase, and to keep going – until they notice that something has changed and their efforts have been worth it.

I also encourage my patients to try out things themselves, get active, and explore the possibilities of their own body. I provide a framework for this, and set certain rules. It’s fun to see that people can do more than they thought, and make progress with targeted exercises. I work with my patients to look for exercises which stimulate them, and which they enjoy – even at home. Because even the best exercise is useless if it is not practised at home.
